A potluck meal may be the most common form of magic. Each person brings what they personally have to offer, and everyone is fed—without planning or management, simply relying on the gathered community to be, by definition, enough.

What give you a sense of abundance in your enjoyment of it?
Who would be upset if a beautiful butterfly showed up to sip from the feeder they set out for the hummingbirds? It feels natural to be unhappy when life doesn’t go according to our plans, but it can turn out that we are simply given the opportunity to welcome a different guest than the one we anticipated.
What in your life has appeared as a welcome guest, although you intended something quite different?
If you are willing to bring yourself down low enough, even the grasses have grandeur.
What have you been able to see by shifting to a perspective of humility?
You might think that piling lock on lock will keep you safe. Maybe it will. But if you feel the need for that many locks, it’s probably worth looking at what might happen if you chose to open the gate.
