What pressuring situation is offering you an opportunity to show grace?

Perhaps you are feeling spindly and small, too fragile for the work that is required of you. But behind each of us is a larger presence: the memory of heroes who have gone before us, the knowledge of those who have shaped us, the presence of a Larger Love that upholds us.

What larger presence sustains and upholds you?

A benediction is literally a “good word,” a spoken gift or blessing. In a world full of quips and snarking, social media one-upsmanship and awkward conversations, there is a place for bringers of benediction, if only in the form of a small compliment or expression of good will.

Who will you offer a benediction today?

Do flowers feel cozy wrapped tight in green before they bloom? Is exposure to air and sunlight and ecstatic revelation or a terrifying transition? If flowers are like people, probably all of the above.
