There are wonders in the world that are beyond what we can imagine—not because we lack the science to explain them, but because our perspective on the world can never be broad enough to truly take it all in.
What scientific reality simply boggles your mind?
Oh, it doesn’t take much to boggle my mind. First I was going to say that the size of the universe is something I can’t wrap my mind around, but to be honest: the distance between the members of our solar system or even the size of the red spot on Jupiter is more than I can truly comprehend. I hear the numbers, I see the models, but they still don’t compute.
It is difficult for me to comprehend the number of insect species in our world, much less the number of bacteria. when I think of those quantities, I feel that we humans are really rather insignificant.Think of what “they” can do to use when we succumb to the “common” cold! Someday unless we continue to enlarge our brain power, we may succumb to anther species right here on this planet. That is one reason, I suppose, that so many of the sci fi depictions try to describe how we may be able to escape to another planet. However, we already know right
now how difficult it is to escape… (the ebola problem).
