How have you have you made an easier path for a person or people coming behind you?

When I retired a couple of years ago, I left notes, organized files, archived email messages so the person who followed me could see how I had been organizing the tasks on my job description. To this day, she sends me thank you notes when she discovers clues that make her job easier.
