Passing the Time

Most of our lives, it seems, are spent in the in-between places—not accomplishing amazing things, but waiting for the train, or for the email to be returned or for the kids to be done with piano lessons. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. After all, even atoms are mostly made up of the space between their component parts.

How do you like to pass the time?

  1. Most recently I am discovering that I can get lost in listening to music. Since I now know how to concentrate on the different parts played by the various instruments in classical music, my attention is absorbed by listening and chosing various motifs as well as longer themes, sometimes repeated. Time blends in with the music so to speak.
