“No one can be free who has a thousand ancestors.”
―L.M. Montgomery
How are you constrained by your ancestry?

I was taken with the first Compass message regarding ancestors – especially in light of the recent All Souls Day celebrations, rituals and reflections. This message, regarding freedom gave me pause. Undoubtedly we have a genetic inheritance, and likely some habits and customs from our ancestors as well, for better or worse. That said, it occurs to me that we still exercise a freedom for our own time and to navigate our own life landscapes – in a way which would reflect well on our inheritance. Thanks to the Compass editors for another thought provoking inspiration – in a steady stream of them!
