The Soul’s Grief

The soul is made for joy—but it is also made for grief. We live in a world that is broken as part of its very nature. The simple fact that everything changes means that loss is inevitable. We grieve the loss of what we love, so grief is as much a part of who we are as love is. Grief is inextricable from compassion.

Where do you find beauty in your soul’s grief?

  1. The beautiful things that I remember that happened during a previous relationship with a friend can give me a sense of richness. I am now looking back at some of those times with great appreciation. Even though many of those friends have died, that doesn’t mean that I can’t treasure the memories that we forged together.
