We usually think of resistance in terms of speaking out, but it is also possible to resist the pull of a dysfunctional system or society buy being careful and thoughtful about what we say, speaking up only when we have good reason to believe that what we say is true.

Right now, I am in a quandry. I received an e- mail with not much verification asking me to add my name to a statement intended to be used to support the impeachment of President Trump. Before I might do that, I have asked a friend to help me verify its veracity. Best to wait until I truly know that it will be used correctly.
