A Natural Giver

“If nature has made you for a giver, your hands are born open, and so is your heart; and though there may be times when your hands are empty, your heart is always full, and you can give things out of that—warm things, kind things, sweet things—help and comfort and laughter—and sometimes gay, kind laughter is the best help of all.”
― Frances Hodgson Burnett

Who comes across to you as a natural giver? What have you learned from them?

  1. My friend Roberta thinks of how she can relate to me and does something about it. She creates reasons to be there for me and in addition is willing to help me in times of need. She and Stu, her husband, sat with me at the ER once for hours; they wouldn’t leave until we all know I was OK. She also is encouraging to me in that she thinks of ways for me to develop confidence in displaying my art; she as an artist, knows how to do so; she wants me to do so, too. She’s there for me with good wishes so much of the time. I happen to know that she is a help mate for others too!
