In the Valley

We lift our eyes to the mountains, to the majesty and beauty of the rocky crags. But day-to-day living happens in the valleys, in the less exalted, but more livable spaces.

What terribly prosaic thing is a blessing to you?

The Daily Compass offers words and images to inspire spiritual reflection and encourage the creation of a more loving, inclusive and just world. Produced by The Church of the Larger Fellowship, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation with no geographical boundary. Please support the publishing of The Daily Compass by making a $10 or $25 contribution (more if you can, less if you can't)! Thank you for your support!

A usual activity I follow unless I have a specific appointment to keep in the morning is, once up, I walk almost automatically to the front door, open it and check the weather…how cool is it when I open up, is it grey, sunny, rainy? I like to have the feeling and the opportunity to see what’s going on outside even though I don’t plan to be going out right at that time.
