Labyrinth

The route into the center of the labyrinth is circuitous, and you often find yourself further away from your goal than you were earlier in the journey. Unless, of course, your goal is simply to walk the labyrinth, rather than being focused on getting somewhere in particular. Which is, after all, the point of a labyrinth—or any journey.

When has getting farther from your goal been a blessing for your journey?

  1. There have been journeys that I have taken simply to experience the trip without setting a specific goal. I believe that letting some of life up to chance is a healthy thing to do. I like to pick up, along the way, some surprises that I never anticipated. I did walk a labyrinth once and it did make me think, but I don’t remember that it was terribly purposeful in searching for a goal.
