Venice

The waterways of Venice lend it a unique glamor. The waterways are there, of course, because there’s just so much water, and people found a way to work with the fact.

What beauty have you created out of a difficult situation?

As my Mom was aging, more and more she was conscious of her surroundings but didn’t have the energy or the desire to carry on conversations. So, I chose poetry to read to her. Often it would be poetry for children( Eleanor Farjeon’s comes to mind) and then, on some days, I’d read a poem about rain if it were a rainy day. I also chose to read the complete set of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books to her and the second time I read them, I realized that I myself was gaining new thoughts as I read them again.
