Wound Up

Do you ever feel as if you are curled in on yourself, protecting what is most fragile inside you by wrapping it tight? What would it feel like to release that tension, to allow your body to stretch out in trust that there is room for you—all of you—in this world?

How do you make room for what is inside you to stretch and grow?

  1. I like to meditate lying down, stretched out on my back. I can get deeper breaths and relax more completely. Occasionally, I doze off, but in those cases, I figure my body needed the sleep.

  2. When I have lots of thoughts about information I have seen or read, I like to expand whatever it is and talk with other people about it. Sometimes I find a willing dialogist; other times, not so fortunate but it is a good way to get along with making decisions, comparing notes and just generally getting something off of my chest.
