From a Distance

From on high these mountains are shrouded in a mysterious beauty—which may or may not be any more mysterious or beautiful than what you would see if you were actually standing on the mountainside.

How has your perspective on something important changed because of distance in time or space?

  1. As time passed, I began to realize that while I did have problems in my childhood, dwelling on them made me seem like a more unhappy person than I really was. I had a lot of fun times. Focusing on those fun times helped me move forward with more happiness.

  2. I have traveled widely in the world and feel that I understand in better ways the similarities and differences in many cultures. Now that I am older and probably more limited in finances, I will use my time still keeping in touch with friends overseas as well as reading about and studying ( hopefully on PBS) what is happening in other places.
