Band-Aid Solution

A Band-Aid solution is a small or temporary fix. But sometimes what you need is just a little bit of help to solve a problem or hold on until things get better.

What small gesture has made a big difference in your life?

  1. When I was immobilized with shock and grief in the immediate aftermath of the election, a bouquet of flowers arrived, from one of my nephew’s and his girlfriend. I really can’t find the words for what that did for me. It was a real turning point in working through the grief.

  2. I am living with what I call “the Mary Todd Lincoln Syndrome”: she purchased many things as her loving husband allowed it, so to speak, and really had little use for them, (so they say). My situation is that I, even well along in retirement, have been “bitten by the buying bug”. Since this is the most permanent residence I have ever experienced, I seem to want to continually add to my treasures. I have heard of the adage” when you bring something into the house,. take something out”. So far it’s not working that way for me. However, with the help of my “cleaning lady” who has an eye for well arranged rooms, I now have one room rearranged very pleasantly. I’m on my way, I hope!
