Ringing in Your Ears

Imagine if you could hear this picture. What sort of a low ringing sound would you get from pouring water over the bell of a large metal bowl? Can you hear it?

What sounds are so vivid to you that you can conjure them out of silence?

  1. The sound of my gas range flaring up. (It always makes me jump when that happens.)
The crack my neck makes when the chiropractor adjusts it.
The “wheek” a guinea pig makes when it wants attention, treats, or both.
Plastic dryer balls bouncing around in the dryer.
Peter Griffin’s laugh from “Family Guy”, Homer Simpson’s “D’oh!”
The Windows 3.1 startup fanfare noise.
    A guero.
The coffee maker my family had when I was a kid. It would grumble, and then drip
(something like “grrrmmm” followed by “beee-yooo”)

    1. Maggie, some of your list is so funny it made me laugh. You really seem to be able to hear all kinds of sounds.

    2. Maggie, some of your sounds made me laugh! You really are able to explain all kinds of sounds!

  2. I can imagine the sound of wind in the trees, the rustling or the strong blowing sound that is moving the branches and the leaves around; there are two different sounds that way. Also I can hear the sound of waves coming in to the shore, sometimes crashing and sometimes just slowly gliding in.
