No Entry

no entry - morguefile freeFace it. The key is probably lost, and even if you could find it, the lock is most likely rusted shut. You might have to accept that you are not getting in.

What have you given up on because it was simply not worth the struggle?

  1. The selection of a photo which accompanies your thought-provoking comments often inspire other questions. It is to your credit that such good photos are selected. The rusted padlock makes me wonder what someone had that was being denied entrance so long? A memory perhaps? Some possession that served a significant protection? Was the key lost? Is it still worth looking for?
This wonderful photo prompts a host of questions – and their stories.

    1. Locked padlocks on structures have always intrigued me: Warren, you ask some provocative questions.

  2. Years ago, since I grew into maturity after a college education in the late 40s, I expected, as did most of the female generation, to marry. Now, after years of alternating frustration and confidence about whether I was following the correct path for happiness, I remain unmarried, childless but with a history of various personal relationships. There is a lingering tinge of regret but, when I look as clearly as possible at my life, I realize that there have been an enormous number of times when the opportunities for success and happiness have been available to me as a single person. I believe that being with people who respect my life pattern and whom I have become play a major factor in my acceptance of me as the person I am and am still becoming.
