Gone to Seed

Gone To SeedWe think of flowers as the purpose of a blooming plant, and the color and scent of a blossom as the truly desirable part of a plant’s life cycle. But what matters to the plant are the seeds that remain after the blossom is gone, for that is where creation resides.

What do you love all the better now that its shine has worn off?

  1. I have an old worn out looking jacket made of now-rusty color which is reversible to a plaid design ; it has a hood and feels just right to wear when there begins to be a chill in the air. I paid a small amount for it and after some years of wear, the long closing zipper broke. Woe is me! I asked a woman who did some housework for me and whom I know as a seamstress if she could replace the zipper. It was a size difficult to locate as well as having the problem of being able to zip it up from either ide. She did it! The zipper is a bit clumsy when using the plaid reversed to the outside, but it still feels wonderfully cozy. I have a friend locating here who isn’t accustomed to cooler weather so I am offering to “share” this special hooded jacket this season!
