Radical

poodle“Naturally, in the course of my life I have made lots of mistakes, large and small, for one reason or another, but at the heart of it all, every time I made a mistake it was because I was not radical enough.”
—Jean-Paul Sartre

What mistake have you made by being insufficiently radical?

  1. “Insufficiently” radical: what a strange combination of words. It certainly makes one think! I believe that my main mistake in not considering this possibility is a personal one. Although I have loved, I have never had sufficient courage to declare a love without being asked to do so. This, in turn, may have influenced my responses to how I support a larger cause. I do the banner carrying and the “crowd showing up” but often I know that’s not enough. Perhaps if I had made one of those personal “I love you-s” , I would have been able to carry though on even larger challenges.
