The Young Dead Soldiers

DoNotStandThe young dead soldiers do not speak
Nevertheless they are heard in the still houses: who has not heard them?…
They say, Whether our lives and our deaths were for peace and a new hope or for nothing we cannot say: it is you who must say this.

How do you turn mourning into peace and new hope?

  1. I have often wondered how I would feel if I had experienced a personal loss because of a soldier’s death. I haven’t and therefore the immediacy of loss doesn’t color my response to a great extent. Collectively, I do mourn the loss of many of our young who will never give themselves to our country in life instead of by death.
Selfishly, I treasure the freedom I have because of their protection of our country. I hope for another, better future for us as well as for the entire world.
