Our comfort and safety depends on the work of so many people whose efforts are often invisible to us: agricultural workers, power line repairers, people who maintain sewers…the list goes on and on.

Today, I’m thankful for the people who make ice cream possible (farm workers to grocery clerks.)
We had a minor tornado here in Worcester last night. No one was hurt, but there are a lot of broken trees and some property damage.
I’d like to thank the tree service workers who came in the middle of the night to get the tree out of the road so that my street would be passable again, the electric company workers who restored power, and the weather service people who now send emergency alerts via cell phone (I wouldn’t have known otherwise).
